GCS Campaign of the Month winner May 2020

Congratulations to the HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) communication team, winners of May’s GCS Campaign of the month competition for their work on the ‘Coronavirus (COVID-19) job retention scheme’ campaign.

Trophy to represent winning

The campaign had four phases of communications, ‘announce’, ‘prepare’, ‘launch’ and ‘support’, in which the team delivered at a very fast pace.

The team implemented a range of campaign activities, including regular emails to update and support over 2 million employers, webinars delivered to 100,000 attendees and step by step stakeholder guides to reduce the demand on operational colleagues.

The campaign had great results, including 99% of employers having awareness of the COVID-19 job retention scheme before it launched.

Judges commented that “this campaign had clear, SMART objectives which were robustly evaluated and found to be exceeded.”
