GCS members wellbeing survey

Communications professionals across Government can now have a say in what kind of wellbeing support GCS offers in the future.

The GCS Wellbeing Group has created a survey to identify the type of wellbeing support that government communicators need and to hear from people working at the front line of government.

The survey has been sent via our weekly newsletters. You can still contact us to take part.

Graham Millward, Development Adviser at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and GCS wellbeing group member said:

“The GCS wellbeing group will become a key part of the support available to government communicators. GCS colleagues have the opportunity at the outset to shape the group’s plans, by completing our short survey. If we know what will help you, we can ensure the group gives you the right support. We know there’s wellbeing support available across government.

In DWP Communications, we’ve held informal wellbeing drop-in calls, and shared many ideas, on varied topics such as exercise, hobbies, dealing with change, and laughter. I personally want people to feel supported, and know from experience the impact of having that support there, and the impact when it isn’t.”

Ella Fage, Private Secretary at HM Revenue and Customs and GCS wellbeing group member said:

“I’m very happy to be supporting the GCS wellbeing group as it’s something that I care deeply about. Wellbeing is a pivotal factor in becoming an effective communications professional.

As someone who actively struggles with my own mental health issues, I understand the importance of providing everyone with support they can get value from.

By completing this survey, you will be helping us tailor content that’s right for you with. We hope with this we will make a positive impact on your working situation”

GCS has established a cross-government wellbeing group for communications professionals. The purpose of the group is to meet on a regular basis and collaborate on wellbeing initiatives for the GCS. The group consists of cross-government wellbeing leads and mental health first aiders.
