Congratulations to Public Service Communications Excellence Award winners

At the Public Service Communications Excellence Awards last night, communications professionals and teams from across UK public services were recognised for fantastic campaigns and outstanding achievement.

Selvin Brown MBE, Director of Engagement and Policy for the Health and Safety Executive stated that:

“It was a great privilege to recognise colleagues across central and local government for their dedication, talent and innovation. Communications is a crucial part of our work in public service, and the calibre of entries this year shos we are in good hands for the future”

The Public Service Communications Excellence Awards were held as part of the GCS, LGComms and Local Government Association (LGA) Public Service Communications Academy. The ceremony took place in the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester. 

A shortlist of 20 public service campaigns were recognised for outstanding campaigns. The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) took the Platinum Award for their #TaxItOrLoseIt campaign.

Gold Awards

  • Ministry of Defence (Directorate of Defence Communications) – DDay75 Campaign

Silver Awards

  • Berkshire West CCG/East Berkshire CCG – Lift the baby
  • Department for Work and Pensions – Workplace pension campaign and Gogglebox partnerships
  • Hertfordshire County Council – Maev’s Story – a scams prevention campaign
  • Metropolitan Police Service – 100 Years Strong
  • Staffordshire County Council – MindKind

Bronze Awards
