Early Talent Programme

Launched in January 2015, the programme aims to identify and up-skill a group of high potential individuals likely to become successful future communications leaders within government

The nomination process for the 2018/19 Early Talent programme is now closed, the deadline for nominations was 31 January 2018.

Participants are identified by their business unit as having the potential and aspiration to progress to G7 and the ability to benefit from participating in the programme. Each applicant must complete a nomination form and these are available from your Development Advisor.

The programme provides an individual with intensive development over a two-year period and is made up of core and bespoke activities. The core activities provide a solid developmental foundation in year one, with new skills put into practice during year two. The core activities, action learning and masterclasses that form the programme, ensure that participants have ample opportunity to network and learn from senior communication leaders. The programme provides structured opportunities for participants to learn from reflection and from the advice and feedback received from others.

Participants are expected to continue their normal duties whilst on the programme; they need to invest personal time to get the best out of participation and maximise their own potential.

The Early Talent programme runs in parallel to the G6/7 Inspire programme, creating a clear talent pipeline for the communications profession.
