On 30th January, DIT is running a two-hour workshop on how HMG will promote the UK at the second largest event on Earth – Expo 2020 Dubai. Learn how DIT is convening the whole of Whitehall to maximise this major international moment for the UK, with 190 participating nations and 25 million expected visits.

Pavilion at UK Expo

DIT’s Events Group is renowned for delivering award winning major world events on behalf of UK government. Expo 2020 Dubai is another major event attracting a truly global audience, including tourists, students, heads of Government, business leaders and VIPs.

Every participating nation with have its own country Pavilion for the first time in Expo’s history, creating a unique ‘World in One Place’ environment. The UK Pavilion, designed by award winning artist Es Devlin OBE, will form the centerpiece of the UK’s presence at Expo 2020 Dubai, complemented by a six-month Cultural and Business Events Programme at the UK Pavilion and beyond.

No event will compete with Expo in its ability to drive geopolitical and economic benefits for the UK. Through the UK’s participating theme, ‘Innovating for a Shared Future’ we will promote the UK as a global hub for innovation, increasing exports and investment and enhancing appetite amongst international visitors to study and travel to our country.

So what can you learn from this workshop?

  • How to develop a strategy for a multi-channel, multi-audience campaign, including what we learnt along the way;
  • how to influence, persuade and engage colleagues, stakeholders and partners, utilising audience insights and the power of storytelling;
  • techniques for creating maximum amplification and cut through around key moments through ‘matrix working’;
  • gain an understanding of where your Departmental priorities can be woven in, such as content and showcasing opportunities on offer.

I look forward to hosting attendees at the workshop. Sign up on Eventbrite and follow us @UKPavilion2020 to find out more about the project ahead of the event.
