The Cross-Government Insight Network was established in June 2015, and provides a space for communications insight professionals across government to share their knowledge of audiences, techniques and behaviours.
One of our first steps as a network has been to conduct an audit of all the communications research that exists across departments to help us identify gaps in our knowledge of audiences and issues, and to help identify potential areas for collaborative working.
Alongside our work on audiences, we also discuss how to improve and extend our supplier relationships, how we can build the insight capability of all communications practitioners, and how we can ensure professional skills and standards are maintained across the profession.
From September 2015, we will have time set aside at our sessions to hear from expert speakers on various issues and audiences of relevance to government communications, both from government and from outside.
We will also hear from some of our members who have created a task-force on social listening, to ensure we are up-to-date on the latest tools and best practice.
